At The Raices Collaborative, we believe change doesn’t trickle down—it rises from the ground up. Founded by Latina women, we are a community-led movement rooted in culture, resilience, and radical collaboration.
In communities long overlooked by power structures, we see potential—not problems. We create spaces where everyday people become civic leaders, environmental stewards, and agents of lasting transformation.
Power begins where people gather
Our journey began in 2024, in Houston, Texas, with grassroots conversations that turned into collective action. What started as neighborhood organizing quickly evolved into a movement uniting education, environment, and equity.
Every initiative we launch, every workshop we host, every native plant we place into community soil—it’s all part of a larger mission:
To help communities not only be heard, but lead.
Raíces means roots—and that’s where we work
“Raíces,” the Spanish word for “roots,” reflects our belief that lasting impact is grounded in local knowledge, shared culture, and deep relationships.
We grow change by nurturing the wisdom already within our communities—especially among those most impacted by environmental injustice, civic neglect, and systemic inequality.
Our roots are cultural. Our roots are ancestral. Our roots are collective.

We know no one does this work alone. That’s why we work hand-in-hand with local organizations, youth, educators, and advocates across Texas and beyond. Together, we co-create programs that elevate leadership, redistribute power, and build coalitions that last.
